There was reason to celebrate again this week after Surgical Innovations won the ‘Innovation’ award at the Medilink UK Awards 2011 – an annual event that celebrates the latest technologies, outstanding business achievements and international success across the UK Life Sciences sector.
Surgical Innovations were among five winners at the black tie event, held at the prestigious Crown Plaza hotel in London Docklands on Tuesday 8th March.
The company have had a busy year since winning the Queens Award for Innovation 2010; hosting the HRH Princess Royal last month and now being recognised again amongst their industry peers.
Tony Davis, Medilink UK Chairman said: “Winning a Medilink UK Award is a huge professional honour and these companies are the ones that will help the UK economy thrive once again, pioneering new technologies that can meet the healthcare needs of our society in the future”
Medilink UK is a networking organisation that stimulates collaboration between public and private sectors for Life Science companies across the country from their offices in the Midlands and the North, including Sheffield; supporting healthcare companies across the UK and internationally.
Sponsored by the Association of British Healthcare Industries (ABHI), the awards ceremony attracted leading figures from the Life Sciences sector, UK Government, research institutes and overseas organisations.
The Life Sciences sector is one of the country’s true growth sectors, highlighted by UK Government as a priority - providing a clear stimulus for growth and nation-wide wealth creation.
